Skydiving Rig
The pilots will each be wearing an extra large reserve skydiving parachute on their backs, although in order to save space and reduce weight, they will not have a main parachute.
The parachute is worn within the main harness, so that if at any point they find themselves caught out in extreme bad weather, and are in danger of being blown into the side of the mountain, they can release the paramotor harnesses and jump free of the entire paramotor.
They then freefall down with the oxygen system and emergency kit still attached and, hopefully, landing at a safe altitude where they can breathe safely and be rescued by helicopter.
