Survival Kit
In the event of any serious problem, the pilots carry a survival kit containing basic mountain emergency equipment.
This is designed to allow them either to survive long enough for a rescue team to reach them at high altitude or to enable them to climb down to a safe height. It contains lightweight petzel crampons, a foil sleeping bag, a GPS, a satellite phone, personal locator beacons, food, water and a radio intercom system with a 30-mile range that will enable the pilots to maintain contact with each other as well as the Base-Camp team.
