Bear - update from base camp 12/5/2007
It is snowing pretty hard here and it is cold - looking up towards Everest the entire mountain is engulfed is swirling storm clouds - we are holed up in our tents trying through shivering hands to sort out all our kit- everything from assembling the engines to testing radios...God I knew we should have bought more thermals! There is a possible small break in the weather in a few days...until then we keep getting ready...but everything takes a while in these conditions. Bear x

Congratulations Bear & Gilo on your mission success :D! I'm so glad everything went well & you got back to earth safely. I can only imagine what it must feel like to not only have climed Everest but flown above it in the open air, higher than anyone has ever been. I've been reading "Facing Up" for about the 10th time (!) in between revision for my Uni finals and cannot wait to step foot on the Everest slopes myself. I'm sure you are desperate to get home to your family and I very much look forward to your next book...! Take care, Tom
