Well done and great to have a brit as such an inspiration.
Stefanie (23/05/2007 08:50:58)
Bear, you and the team are absolutely amazing. I know you hear that all of the time but really, you guys are. You were able to raise 1 million dollars for charity! Success beyond the success of completing this huge scary mission where so many people in the beginning told you to reconsider. Gilo and you proved their butts wrong. hehe
I'm so glad that you're home with your families and able to just relax and spend time with your kids! WHOOHOOO! Well deserved.
Oh, and I'm extra excited about the filming of MVW! Thanks for that too. It's one of the only shows I turn my t.v on for. Packed full of useful information. I can't wait until the Oregon episode plays!
Much love!
John (23/05/2007 15:50:58)
Hey Bear - what about the story I read that you landed on TOP of Dan Mazur near Pheriche village? It even showed a picture of you taken by him when he was tangled up in your parachute lines HAHA!
Gilo was coming in to land when a trekker ran out in front of him to try and take a picture- Gilo managed to avoid him with himself and the paramotor but the trekker still just stood there taking photos and the parachute settled down on top of him. Why the trekker did not move no-one knows!Stefanie (24/05/2007 06:50:58)
Message number 2. Sorry. I just read this on the Parajet.com website:
"Between May 20th and May 30th Parejet/GKN, led by world renowned explorer Bear Grylls will attempt the World record of flying over Everest at a staggering 30,000 feet. The mission is being filmed by the “Planet Earth” team for a 2 hour Discovery/ Chanel 4 documentary."
Do you know if the documentary will air in the U.S? I'm a huge fan of the Planet Earth series too! :)
Namaste.

Hey Bear!
Enjoy a long holiday, one that is well earned!! Congrats on your latest adventure. I am in the midst of reading your first book (the kid who climbed Mt. Everest) and find it hard to put down. I'm trying to only read 50 pages a evening so that i can savor it as long as I can! I know you called this latest adventure the hairist and your days of these were over but as I'm reading your book, I tend to think, you'll once again come up with something "wild" to do. As one of your admirers, it would suit me just as well for you to keep grounded and we'll buy your books and continue to watch MVW!!!
Richard Coughlan (11/06/2007 21:51:10)
bear, you've inspired me in many ways since watching and reading about your experiences, i'm just starting out my military career and could'nt even dream on some of your accomplishments but no harm in trying. good luck in the future and keep up the good work. Ric

Alison Clarke (28/06/2007 18:51:11)
Well done Bear. Glad you completed the challenge. Have a good Holiday. Say hi to Shara and may see you at the end of August at the O&E show. Take care. Love Alison.
Bill (13/07/2007 11:52:08)
How come there are no photos of you up high in the sky or even looking side-on to some of the big, famous mountains in the area. It's not like there are any shortages of them! It's also a little cloudy in those shots supposedly taken when you were up high. Not sure what time you went up, but it's usually clear in the morning, and I would have thought that you would have waited for a clear weather for flying. Was there time pressure? As I was told once: "We don't fly in Nepal when there are clouds, because the clouds have rocks in them."
I understand that you have a documentary coming out and you have said that it contains all the proof, but why not just post something up on your site to confirm that you have done the feat that you say you have achieved. It won't take anything away from the documentary.

Bear,
Congrats on your successful mission. I may only be 11, but I am already planning to climb Mt. Everest with you as my inspiration. I watch "Man vs. Wild" every night. Also, would you tell me the titles of all of your books? Adventure on- Julie
Aimee (22/07/2007 21:52:24)
Dear Bear,
Recently you have been doing publicity for Man vs. Wild in LA and New York and the only place you are missing is Miami, Florida. To retire from Miami’s fuss just 30 minuets south lays a small city called Homestead where Keys gate golf course, a top of the line country club, is. Even if golf bores you, there is a 4 foot alligator in a cannel on the course who I like to call Willy. Also to make a great family vacation another hour south there is the Florida Keys which is practically the definition of slack.
Hoping to see you soon,
Aimee

Hello Bear.Wathing you succeed has been awesome to watch. Make A Wish Foundation contacted me to make A wish and I wished to meet you and your family. I rethought and cancelled that motion. I know how busy you are and cheerish the moments with your family more than anything and I didnt want to interfer. So I wished for mountain gear instead. You gave me hope when I was in recovery. Anyways keep up the good advice and enjoy your holiday. If anyone deserves it, it is you.hope to hear from you one day-Brianna

Well done you two, in extreme conditions you set the limit, with respect to the surroundings you conquered your fears and went to where no man has been before. Brave chaps. Well done.
